Streaming Help
Check below for information regarding our radio station streaming.
Due to international distribution rights, Stingray Radio online streaming is only available within Canada. If you hear the message “This content is not available in your location”, this indicates our system believes you to be outside Canada.
If you are attempting to listen within Canada:
Our system will occasionally make an error when identifying a listener’s geographic location and inadvertently prevent a listener located within Canada from accessing the radio stream content. This can sometimes be corrected by closing your browser/app, waiting a few minutes, and attempting to connect again.
You can confirm your IP address is recognized as a Canadian location using the online geolocation tool IP-API.com at: https://ip-api.com/
If you are located within Canada but showing an IP address outside of the country and cannot access the radio streams, please check with your internet service provider (ISP) to ensure they have assigned you a Canadian IP address. If for example your provider is based in the United States or routes your internet through the U.S. , these factors could impact your IP address not appearing to be Canadian and result in a blocked connection.
If you are physically located within Canada and continue to receive this message you can contact us with your details to investigate further.
If you are outside of Canada:
Unfortunately due to international distribution rights our music radio stations are not available for online streaming outside of Canada.
Starts and stops in your online radio streaming can be the result of a variety of issues. Typically, these are caused by Internet congestion or connection slowdowns. There are many potential roadblocks between the live stream leaving a radio station and playing on your device. Often, these occurrences will resolve within a short time period, but in instances that a problem persists help may be available.
If you are streaming through our desktop streaming players available through our station websites, or the Radioplayer mobile app, please reach out to our streaming support team by clicking the “Question Mark” and submitting the help form.
We’ve learned that some people who use Firefox on iPhones and iPads will sometimes have a start/stop problem. We do know that if you use Safari on iPhone and iPad, the problem seems to vanish.
Streaming our Stingray Radio stations online typically use between 25 MB to 56 MB per hour depending on a number of factors including the device, app, and connection speed.
